Greetings to all. Chalked up a couple of nice sessions yesterday and today. Sunset yesterday and sunrise today - cool and relatively calm. It's great to be able to combine training with peaceful scenery - very fortunate!

Greetings to all. Been a bit since the last post. Great weather for paddling the last couple of weeks - flatwater, cooler temps and an occasional breeze for downwinding. Here are some pics from the recent outings...
Lunchtime Heron on Severn
2 Alpha on the Severn
Heron's Home
Severn Bridges 9/11/12
USNA Bridge - GoPro Downwind
I've got a Priest Point surf session video coming - just trying to put some music to it! We'll see how it turns out. Also planning a South River run in the coming weeks - start where the river meets 450 and head to Thomas Point/Bay Ridge! Hopefully we'll get some great pics. This is a great time of year to get out - water is still warm and the temps are cooling - so keep on paddling.

Downwind greetings to all.
Saw this video on Seabreeze.com.au last night. Great vid of a downwinder in 30-40 knots!
For those who are relatively new to SUP, downwinders (DWers) are point A to point B paddles going downwind (so you have to organize a pick up at the end). When the wind is up the wind swell can have enough energy for the paddler to surf (or surge) with the waves. Great fun. Can't wait for the wind to get up here on the river - when the wind is up and blowing from the W/NW the Severn is perfect for DWers - great rides and ending up a Davis' or Boatyard for the pickup isn't bad either.
